anche se ha esposto al salone degli impressionisti , Cassatt’s opere comprendevano molti stili , e spesso ha innovato nuove tecniche per i suoi dipinti . nel Child’s Bagno , possiamo vedere la sua influenza dalle stampe giapponesi di blocchi di legno . Al momento ha creato questo dipinto , l'alto punto di osservazione , ritaglio stretto delle forme , e contorni audaci erano tutti dispositivi artistici non convenzionali . Cassatt è stato in grado di desiderare un over-sentimental rappresentazione di questa scena intima usando le tecniche sopra menzionate , ci fa immergere nel bagno senza gocciolare con dolce sentimentalismo . anche cassatt fu influenzato dall'uso di questa tecnica giapponese di blocchi di legno dalle opere di edgar degas , che ha creato molte opere simili .
